A SERIES of free gardening workshops are taking place in Kingswood this spring.
Anyone who would like to learn more is welcome; no experience necessary, all tools will be provided.
The workshops run from 1-3pm on the following dates. There’s no need to book, just turn at the bandstand at Kingswood Park.
24 May – Weed identification and management: Learn to identify and manage common weeds.
31 May – Seasonal bedding maintenance: It’s time to remove the winter bedding and prepare for summer, reusing as much of the seasonal planting as possible by lifting and replanting bulbs.
7 June – Seasonal bedding planting: Learn about the kind of plants that can be added to a summer display what their care requirements are.
14 June – Pruning techniques – Spring flowering shrubs: Spring flowering shrubs need to be pruned just after they have finished flowering, to ensure that they flower just as spectacularly the following year.
28 June – Summer maintenance – Herbaceous borders: Learn about the tasks that keep garden borders looking beautiful.
