ABOUT 60 people have benefited over the past two years from a programme of Creative Wellbeing Sessions at The Park Centre on Kingswood High Street.
The Creative Shift sessions offer a warm, welcoming space to explore creativity, boost wellbeing and build connections. They form part of the wider WorkWell West initiative, supported by the NHS.
Amy Lloyd-Jones, wellbeing arts facilitator at Creative Shift, said: “Our sessions are relaxed and informal. You work at your own pace with no pressure. Each session we will be exploring different creative activities and materials.”
“I look forward to attending and facilitating this group as much as the participants do! I too benefit from the sense of connection and creative flow. It is a great privilege to support people in this way.”
One recent Kingswood graduate said: “The class was run brilliantly and promoted a sense of calm in a supportive and safe space.”
The two-hour, weekly sessions are open to anyone looking to improve their health, wellbeing or social connection. They can be particularly supportive for people experiencing isolation, living with chronic pain, managing stress, low mood or depression, or coping with loss, life transitions or significant change.
The sessions are free, but attendees need to apply or register through the WorkWell West programme and may have to go on a waiting list as, currently, organisers do not know if funding will be available to continue after this month.
