Tensions are rising on the set of a soap opera, and not everyone will make it to the final scene!
St Stephen’s Drama Group is back with its latest production, The Young, The Bold and The Murdered—a hilarious, fast-paced murder mystery set in the glamorous (and drama-filled) world of daytime television. Coming to Soundwell in June 2025 this thrilling production features overdramatic characters, suspenseful twists, and plenty of laughs as secrets unravel and the body count rises.
The play takes place on the set of the dying soap opera The Bold and The Young, where the cast is more focused on their personal drama than the show’s survival. With a hunky hero plagued by self-esteem issues, a villainous old man obsessed with soup, and heroines with a touch of psychosis, the production is already on shaky ground. Then, when the executive producer gives the squabbling cast an ultimatum – complete one episode overnight or the show dies – the pressure is on. And when the director ends up murdered, and other cast members start dropping like flies, it seems like his threat might not be an empty one after all.
There will be a bar offering refreshments and nibbles before the show and during the interval, as well as a raffle each night. In addition to the regular raffle, there will be a special Star Raffle running across all three performances, with a grand prize worth over £200, to be drawn on the final night. Don’t miss your chance to win big! The three shows will take place at St Stephen’s Church Hall BS16 4RH at 7:30pm on Thursday 19, Friday 20 and Saturday 21 June with doors opening 30 minutes before each performance.
