HOPES are high that South Gloucestershire Council will be able to recruit a partner to run the popular community asset Grimsbury Farm.
The authority says it is committed to keeping the family-friendly attraction open but cannot afford the £260,000 shortfall in running costs.
It has been holding an online consultation and held “community conversations” with visitors at the farm in May.
The council has invited charitable and not-for-profit organisations with relevant resources and expertise to put themselves forward as potential operators of the farm.
A spokesperson said: “We need to find a new operating model for Grimsbury Farm which minimises costs to taxpayers. We’ve reviewed different options and are looking for organisations interested in running the farm in a way which delivers the broadest benefits to the community.
“We believe there are multiple organisations who would be interested in taking on the farm.
A decision is expected this month and a new operator could be in place by the autumn.
