A NURSERY in Soundwell has made changes after being rated by Ofsted as “needs attention” in four areas of its provision.
Kiddi Caru, in Pembroke Road, was inspected in April and found to be reaching the expected standard for inclusion and for children’s behaviour and attitudes and establishing routines. Safeguarding standards were also said to be met.
But the nursery, which has 73 places for babies, toddlers and pre-school children, was judged to need to improve aspects of achievement, curriculum, leadership and management, and children’s welfare and wellbeing.
The Ofsted report described the nursery as welcoming and said children generally behaved well and felt safe. But the inspector said the quality of teaching and learning was inconsistent.
A spokesperson for Grandir UK, which runs the nursery, said: “We are naturally disappointed that some areas were identified as needing attention. While we are proud of the progress made in recent months, we recognise the importance of the findings for our families and wider community and are fully committed to addressing them.
“We have responded swiftly and proactively, with clear actions already under way to strengthen the quality of the experiences we provide for children.
“We have been open with families about both the findings and the actions we are taking, and we remain committed to keeping them informed as we continue our improvement journey.
“We are pleased that the inspection also recognised a number of strengths within the nursery, reflecting the dedication of our team and the warm, nurturing environment we work hard to provide for every child, every day.”
