Doing Christmas the Kingswood way

It might be the darkest time of the year but Kingswood is being lit up with community spirit.

The fun began soon after the clocks went back with a hugely successful Lantern Parade in Kingswood Park.

The centrepiece of the event, organised by Kingswood Town Council and the Friends of Kingswood Park was the 21st century Kingswood elephant Eloise-Rose. She was  created at workshops with Lamplighter Arts CIC and volunteers from We Are BS15 CIC.

Next up was the Let It Glow switch-on event on November 13, when residents celebrated having a Christmas tree in Kings Chase shopping centre again, thanks to the town council.

The postbox toppers made by the talented knitters and crocheters from Yarn and Yardage in the Kingswood Indoor Market add a welcome festive touch, while many are looking forward to the Christmas Social Sunday in Kings Chase on December 7 and Carols in the Park the same day.
