RESIDENTS at Avon Valley Care Home in Kingswood were treated to an unforgettable experience this week as real penguins and monkeys paid a visit.
The event, designed to enrich the lives of residents, provided them with the opportunity to interact with the animals up close, including holding, feeding, and stroking them throughout the day. The visit proved a huge hit, with every resident participating and staff overwhelmed by the joy being experienced.
Manager Rachael Bridgeman said: “This was such a wonderful opportunity for our residents to enjoy something truly unique.”
Grace Orchard, aged 102, said, “I cannot believe at my age I am still having such marvellous experiences. I held a penguin and a monkey.”
